5143 KM "land of the rising sun (JAPAN)"

Assalamualaikum, hye fellas!

It seemed a long time I did not update my blog. But here I am again hehe. Recently, on 16 November, I went to Japan and it was my second trip. This time, the trip is more challenging because we do a lot of walking and have conversation issue with the locals. I love everything about Japan; the weather, food, nature, no UMNO “ops”, technology, people and so much more.

It all started when I got addicted to travel. After I came back from Iceland, my desire to see the world went spiraling.

So, the question is, why Japan? Actually, before Japan there were several places I wanted to go. I planned with Gendut to go to Australia. So I gathered all my friends who were interested in going to Australia. I made a Whatsapp group. In the beginning, there were more than 8 people wanted to join me travel to Australia but in the end, there was only me and Gendut -.-", so if it were just the two of us, Australia is not a suitable for us because according to my plan, we will rent a car or a camper van. If it were just the two of us, it will be more expensive for us.

Next move was Boracay Island, Philippines. It is such a nice place; nice view, stunning beaches, low cost and such a perfect place for a vacation. Ariel's point is one of the place that you have to go if you get there. Gendut and I agreed on Boracay but then, I realise it will be just two of us and it’ll be kinda boring. Then we chose Japan for our next destination and that’s the reason why we chose Japan.

Gendut is the coolest guy I’ve ever met. When I backtracked on the Iceland tragedy (accident in Iceland), I know how cool Gendut can be. How he overcame panic situations. But I know really well of Gendut’s coolness when he rode a roller-coaster haha "sorry gendut".

And here is Apan; he joined us at the very last minute. He’s cool and can get along with us. I hope he can join us in our next trip.

So the journey begins tadaa~~~~

OSAKA ~ KOBE ~ KYOTO ~ NARA

Got off from airplane and for the first time, I set my feet on Osaka. There were no words that can described how I felt that time. Happiness, freedom, passion and all these feeling were mixed in myself. I work too hard to see the world. I'm not a rich man but it was my dream to see the world. Local people were so helpful, even they don't know how to speak English, yet, they still tried to help you. That time, when we reach Shin Imamiya Station, Osaka, we don't know how to buy a subway ticket. So, there was one old lady, she approached us. Maybe she realized we don't know how to buy a ticket by looking at my blurring face. She spoke Japanese to us and we don't know how to speak back to her. I just told her the name of the next station that we wanted to go. Then, she showed us how to buy a ticket, how to change a language, how much it cost, from A to Z and she was a wonderful lady. I like the way she smiled and welcoming us to Japan. At that moment, I started to fell in love with Japan XD

So, our plan was to cover from Osaka to Tokyo. To feel night city scape in Osaka, we went to Ikuta Road, Kobe and Doutonbori, Osaka. What is interesting about Japan is that you can see the combination of traditional Japanese architecture and modern style building.

IKUTA ROAD, KOBE

DOUTONBURI, OSAKA

They have their own identity. They preserved their history and culture very well. It was just like when we went to Kyoto and Nara, you can feel like you were living in a Japanese traditional era. Temple, people wearing kimono, Japanese-written signboards and wooden houses. Unlike Malaysia, we preserved more British historical evidenced. When we saw people wearing Baju Melayu and Tengkolok, "Ini mesti orang umno" or "Melayu bukan bleh bawak masuk kuboq". This is really happening in our society. No one actually cares about our culture anymore since we love Arabic culture more than Malay itself.

By the way, don't take it too serious, it’s just my opinion ~.~

In Japan, we do a lot of walking and travelling place to place by train. Japanese are very punctual, especially when you use trains. By the way, here is a tip for those who want to cover Osaka, Kyota and Nara. Buy "KITETSU RAILWAY PASS" at the information counter at Osaka Airport.

Last day in Osaka, after we checked out from our hostel, we had too many food with us. So, we decided to give the foods to homeless around the hostel. The things that shocked me was those homeless didn't want the food that we were offering. After we met a group of homeless, then one of them took our food. I just thought maybe the Japanese surviving skills was high. So, they won't ask for anything while they still have their strength.

Then, we headed to Umeda Sky Building, because we took the night bus to go to Shinjuku, Tokyo. The bus station was actually in that building, I thought it was near the Umeda sky building =.='. We got lost so many freaking time just looking for the bus station but the trip was fun; we found many interesting places. I saw cute Japanese couple rode a bicycle in the middle of town, It was an exhausting trip for us with our heavy backpacks and my feet was killing me. The best thing about Umeda Sky Building is you can see the entire Osaka City from sky view. It was a best feeling to see Osaka for the last time before we headed to Fuji.

FUJI-Q HIGHLAND ~ KAWAGUCHIKO

The bus was very comfortable and efficient. The best public transportation I ever had. They welcomed you before you get in the bus. After we arrived at Tokyo, they thanked you and apologise for being late due to traffic jam. We don't mind actually, we were in travel-mode, so, no need for the rush.

So, that day we just walked around Shinjuku, looking for the bus station to go to Fuji. After we bought tickets, we wanted to go for a smoke. Here is the issue when you're in Japan. You can't smoke in public area, so, you need to find a smoking area, unfortunately we didn't found any. So frustrated for a smoker like us hehe. When the people follow the rule, it will be awkward for us to not follow the rule.

We arrived Fuji at 1.00 pm, cold mountain breeze stabbed me in the face. That day was foggy, so we can't see the Mount Fuji. I became impatient to see Mount Fuji. Then, we went to the information counter to get as much information we can get. Then, we walked to the Michael's hostel. It took about 15 minutes to walk from the station.

Once we reached Micheal's hostel, we took a bath, then, we ate Brahim’s food product. It was good for travellers because it’s in a pack and ready to cook. Most of Brahim's food are heavy with carbohydrate such as biryani, fried rice and many more. For our next trip, I’ll definitely buy Brahim's food. At night around 8.00 pm, we went out to Lake Kawaguchi. Fuji was quite inactive at night. We took a train to Kawaguchi station and from there, we walked to the lake. The road was dark and scary. There were many old buildings and houses. When we reached the lake, there were no road lights. So, we just hung out at Lawson mart near the lake.

Then, we headed back to the hostel. At the hostel, I met a new group of travellers. They were such wonderful people. We shared ideas and experiences. That night, I also met 2 ladies from Singapore; Miss Marlia and Miss Sabrina. They are around 3-series I guess. We had a really nice conversation. Out of nowhere, one of them asked me "Are you married yet?"
Me: Nahh it’s too expensive in Malaysia. It cost 20k if you want to get married and the cost of living is high now. Maybe it’s not the right time for me to get married yet.
Miss Marlia: In Singapore if you have $5,000 sing dollar, you can get married.
I was like "wow!" It’s as simple as that, Malaysia should be like that. Then, she told me in Singapore, the government won't let Malay, Chinese and Indian stay in separate places and there were no racial issue "malay people in Singapore ditindas" like we were being told.

: Sebab tu orang suruh mengembara baru bleh tau realiti dari terima maklumat dalam TV

Next day, we went to Fuji-Q-Highland. We woke up in the morning, took a warm bath, made a cup of hot coffee and smoked cigarettes at the balcony. The weather was perfect and it was my lucky day; we saw Mt. Fuji. What could be better than this? Looking at it for first time made me shocked and stunned to see the greatness of God's creation. When you’ve seen it, then, you realize it was PRICELESS. Gendut, Apan and I snapped as many picture as we could.

DUK BUAT SEMART

Then, we headed to Fuji-Q-Highland. Fuji-Q-Highland is an amusement park. It has 4 world record roller-coaster. Even the entrance fee is a ‘lil bit expensive but it is definitely worth it.

In the afternoon, we ate at Aladdin Restaurant near Lake Kawaguchi. They were delicious. We ate biryani and mutton curry. Since it was already 4 days since we eat rice, that day was revenge. It was such a beautiful day. Then, we met Malaysian people at the restaurant. The probability you will meet Malaysian people is high when you ate at a halal restaurant.

Then, we continued our thrill at the amusement park again. At night, we enjoyed night view of the park. It was beautiful and full of lights. 9.00 P.M, we headed back to the hostel.

After a day spent on Fuji-Q-Highland, the next day, we checked out and headed to another hostel near Lake Kawaguchi. We said our goodbyes to all guests, then we walked to Gekkouji Station. From there, we took the train to Kawaguchiko Station where we walked to the hostel from there. I do really enjoyed walking from one place to another place. After reached the K's house hostel, we left our things and went to Lake Kawaguchi and Kachi-kachi Ropeway. Kachi ropeway is a cable car and from the top of the hill, you can see both the lake and town.

At the top, there’s a track going into the forest and there is also a small restaurant which was located at the top floor where they also provide you a place to see beautiful view. In the evening, we bought cheesecake and we ate at the lake. Then, we headed back to the hostel.

That night I met a guy from Britain, he was with his wife - just two of them travelling in Japan for a month. I asked him about the Isle of Man because one day, I hope I will get there to see super epic motorbike race Man TT. He told me everything about that island. Then he asked me where is the interesting place in Malaysia? I was speechless, I don't know what to say. Spontaneously, the word that came out from my mouth was "Pulau Langkawi" hahaha XD I know I should say Sabah or Sarawak. It is far more better than Langkawi or should I say we have planet Mars in Pahang haha.

Actually I really admired him, he travel the world with someone he love. We definitely can't do that. Most of our money will be wasted on the wedding, expensive car and house. We Malaysian have the tendency to follow other people, we don't have a stand. We want a rich lifestyle even when we don't have money. Haha and we live such a pathetic life. It is because when you love to travel and your desire to see the unique of the world, then living like a fake rich people and full of debt will not be your 1st priority. Because you know the experience to see the world is PRICELESS. I don't know if I could find a girl who can love the real me hehe. Perempuan mana xmau laki yang kaya2 kan :P

So after Fuji, we headed to Tokyo.

TOKYO

We arrived at Shinjuku. That time my leg started to hurt. Pain at my ankle but it was not gonna stop me to discover Japan. From Shinjuku we took a train to Asakusa station. From there, we walked to the hostel. On our way to there, we got lost. Can you imagine getting lost with bags full of stuff and your leg started to get cramp and you have to find the hostel no matter what it costs you. On my next trip, I have to bring minyak gamat -.-"

After we reached the hostel, we went to hard rock Uyeno-eki to buy some souvenir. The best thing about Japan is you feel safe wherever and whenever you want to go somewhere. We walked at midnight and there were no threats from the locals such as yakuza or some
punk.

Next day, we walked around Tokyo City. We went to Harajuku and Shibuya. When we were in Shibuya, we met 3 adorable kids walking on their own in the city of madness. I just wonder how safe Japan is, even children can walk in the city without their parents. If in Malaysia, that children will probably get kidnapped. Even Japan is not an Islamic country but the way their people live, the cleanliness and safety of the city in Japan were far more better than an Islamic country.

That night, we went to Naritaya Halal Ramen. In Japan I'm dying to eat ramen. The ramen was so delicious. The manager of the restaurant was so friendly. He can speak Malay little bit like "selamat datang" and "terima kasih". We had some conversation with him. When the food arrived, I said to him “itadakimasu”, they were shocked and then the whole crew reply back to us "itadakimasu". It was such a memorable moment for me. I miss them.

Naritaya halal ramen is near to Senso-ji Temple. So we went to Senso-ji Temple too. After that, at midnight we walked to Tokyo Sky Tree. I still remember that time, my leg really hurts but I just kept on walking. When we reached there, we bought hot coffees and enjoy the view of Tokyo sky tree. With the cold breeze on my face, feel relaxed and totally worth walking that far.

Next day was our last day on Japan. I hate the feeling where I have to come back to reality. The time passed by so fast. I have to think about the future, work and other things as well. Woke up in the morning, I wish I could sleep longer than any mornings I ever slept. Got a warm bath and hot coffee. Then, we left the hostel. Every step became heavy. Our flight was at 11.00 P.M, so we headed to Tokyo Tower to buy souvenir. Thanks to bbm group for sharing this info because there is where you can find cheap souvenir compared to other places.

From asakusa we took the train. From subway station we walked to Tokyo Tower. That time, I thought my feet reached its limit. I had to stop walking several times to reach the destination. With backpacks and all other things. But i just kept on walking. When we reached Tokyo Tower, I found Mugiwara store haha XD I'm the luckiest One Piece fan ever. They even have baratie restaurant in there. I bought some souvenir.

We spend our last time in Tokyo tower until 7.00 P.M. Then, we headed to the airport. So far, Japan is the best place and this is my first time I planned all the itinerary. But itinerary in Tokyo credit goes to Gendut. All the plans going good and fine. When it was too rigid to follow the itinerary and rushed to destination, that time I realized it was not the destinations that made me happy. But the way I travel made me happy. Thank you for your time. Assalamualaikum may Allah bless all of you :)
